International Service

International Service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the globe and to promote world understanding and peace.

The Rotary Volunteers program encourages Rotarians to offer their vocational skills in all types of volunteer activities, at home and abroad, in the spirit of promoting understanding, fellowship, and goodwill. One innovative way to expand the opportunities for Rotarians to become actively involved in international service is through volunteer teams.

Teams of Rotarian volunteers have shared a wide range of expertise in humanitarian projects around the world. Implementing a successful volunteer mission requires considerable planning. This can involve Rotarians who are unable to travel to the project country, but can assist with locating project sites, communication, logistics, and fundraising.
